Summary Statement: Promote good government by actively participating in the recruitment, endorsement and election of high-quality candidates that are open-minded, well informed, dedicated to the City of Golden, mindful of the importance of representative government and who are capable of providing professional governance for Golden.

Interest #2: City Leadership

Summary Statement: Be informed and/or involved in the existing and future city leadership, boards, commissions and staff.

  • Strong ability to comprehend and manage the varied responsibilities of City government.

Interest #3: Budget/Tax Revenue

Summary Statement: Stay informed about the City’s budget to support managed growth, residential and commercial, as necessary to generate the funding required to maintain and improve the City’s infrastructure, services and amenities.

3GL Approach:

• Have a budget consistent with City priorities.
• Have expenditures in line with revenues including monitoring the City’s debt.
• Have a prioritized budget supporting community safety first.

Interest #4: Zoning/Planning

Summary Statement: Zoning & Planning initiatives such as audit/rewrites, ADUs, short-term rentals, community development and redevelopment relative to 3GL’s objective to support managed growth.

• Support growth while respecting the built neighborhood.
• Codes that clearly define community desires and retain the community’s historic character.

Interest #5: Major Redevelopment

Summary Statement: Monitor major community redevelopment initiatives (such as the Heart of Golden project) as its relative to 3GL’s other focus areas.

• Design for today’s and future needs.
• As it pertains to budget/tax revenue, zoning/planning, and City leadership.
